Thomas McMahon Superintendent received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Political Science from Monmouth University, New Jersey. He received a 3.91 grade point average out of 4, with summa cum laude honors, and stood seventh in the entire college graduating class. He was inducted into five national honor societies, including Business, Political Science and Leadership. He holds a double major in Business and Political Science and was employed full time throughout his college career. After graduating, he ventured into the business field and voluntarily started providing coaching to youth basketball teams. Thereafter, he also entered a teacher certification while working full time in the evening, and was conferred certifications in Nursery School, Elementary School, Business and Social studies.
Thomas McMahon Superintendent was a brilliant student and received a Garden State Fellowship, a golden opportunity given to only thirty graduate students every year in the entire New Jersey State. He obtained full scholarship to study and earned his Educational Doctorate, with a 4.0 cumulative average, from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was also invited to Oxford University to take part in 2005 Oxford Round Table. Over the course of his career, Thomas McMahon Superintendent has held many administrative positions and done a lot of work for the development of education in New Jersey.
From December 1998 to April 2000, Thomas worked as an Assistant Superintendent/ School Business Administrator at the Toms River Regional School District and established many technology learning centers in the district. He created a technology department, and successfully drafted a new incentive aid bill for New Jersey school districts. He created a $4.5 Million professional development network with the College of New Jersey and also developed an 850, 000 dollar business partnership program. While serving as the District Staff Development Trainer at the Toms River Regional School District, Thomas McMahon Superintendent led summer institutes for senior and new staff on instructional techniques. In addition to this, he has also been active in philanthropic activities, and aims at preventing any form of child abuse as an honorary chairman of Watchful Shepherd Program. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Association of Retarded Citizens, Ocean County.
