Thomas McMahon Superintendent Created Linkages To Monmouth University

Based in Toms River, Thomas McMahon Superintendent is currently serving as a Business Administrator at Barnegat Township School District and has worked with many other organizations also, such as Plumsted Township and TOMS RIVER SCHOOLS. He is a socially responsible individual who actively participates in many causes related to the betterment of his community. As the chairman of Watchful Shepherd Program, Thomas works hard to eradicate all kinds of child abuses from the society, including family violence that adversely affects persons and families. Aside from that, Thomas is also an honorary member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Retarded Citizens, Ocean County and has been offering wholehearted services to the community. In recognition of his remarkable devotion to community, he was given J.C. Penney Golden Rule Award in 1998.

Thomas McMahon Superintendent obtained his doctorate degree in Administration & Supervision from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and was accepted into 5 National Honor Societies. He was also awarded full scholarship as a Garden State Fellow. He completed his post graduation degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at Jersey City State College, and was invited to take part in 2005 Oxford Round Table at Oxford University. Thomas McMahon Superintendent loves working with children, so he entered the teaching field and started various new programs, such as Buddy program with handicapped students and an Entrepreneur program. Due to his exception services, he was chosen the winner of the Sallie Mae National Teacher Award. He was also selected as one out of seven summer trainers to train teachers on latest teaching methodologies and became Vice-Principal of a K-8 school district in Plumsted Township at the age of 27.

Thomas McMahon Superintendent began training Grade 6 to 8 staff on middle school philosophy and took on responsibility of looking for the land to build separate middle school. He also became the member and then secretary of state middle school association (NJAMLE) and made a record as being the youngest Assistant Commissioner of Education in Finance for New Jersey State. For curriculum and training related ideas, he built up associations with universities such as Monmouth University and the College of New Jersey.
