Thomas McMahon Superintendent Initiated New Funding Legislation With State Senator

Thomas McMahon Superintendent is a highly qualified person from Toms River. After completing studies, he started teaching social studies and designed a special buddy program with district’s handicapped students. He also initiated an entrepreneur program with students and received the Sallie Mae National Teacher Award. He was selected as one out of seven summer trainers to train staff in new teaching methodologies. He was given an opportunity to join another district as a Middle School Principal, but he remained at Plumsted Township. He started training the grade 6 to 8 teachers on middle school philosophy and served as the secretary of the state middle school association. After that, he became Business Administrator and completed a 9 million dollar school project within budget and on time. Thomas developed new curriculum for the grade 6 to 8 and provided training to the entire staff. Later on, he assumed the position of Business Administrator and Assistant Superintendent, and started a district-wide technology initiative.

Thomas McMahon Superintendent founded an Education Foundation to raise money, and a Business Partnership Program that helped raise more than $850,000. He also created linkages to the College of New Jersey and Monmouth University for curriculum and training ideas. Aside from that, he started new funding legislation with a State Senator. He is the Chairman of Watchful Shepherd Program and is one among the Board of Directors for the Association of Retarded Citizens, Ocean County.

Thomas McMahon Superintendent obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Political Science from Monmouth University, Monmouth, New Jersey and received Summa Cum Laude honor. For his post-graduation, he enrolled at the Jersey City State College and received his Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration & Supervision, with a 4.0 cumulative average. He was full-time employed while attending the college. He also received Garden State Fellowship- an opportunity which is given to only thirty students yearly in the entire state of New Jersey. Thomas McMahon Superintendent also possesses an Educational Doctorate (4.0 cumulative average) from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He attended a teacher certification program and became certified in Nursery School, Elementary School, and Social & Business Studies.
