Thomas McMahon Superintendent Hired And Trained New Staff

A friendly person from Toms River, Thomas McMahon Superintendent has served in many reputable educational institutions, such as the Barnegat Township School District, West Essex Regional School District and Toms River Regional School District. He graduated from Monmouth University, New Jersey and obtained his post-graduation degree in Educational Administration & Supervision from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, New Jersey. He also possesses a doctorate in Administration & Supervision from Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus. He was a brilliant student who received many scholarships, including the Garden State Fellowship, George F. Link Business Scholarship and Freed Foundation Scholarship. Aside from that, he was inducted into five National Honor Societies.

In 1986, Thomas McMahon Superintendent joined the Toms River Regional School District as a Business Education Teacher and trained teachers on instructional techniques. Later on, he also served as an Assistant Superintendent/ School Business Administrator at this district, and established technology learning centers throughout the district. He also served in the Wall Township School District from January 1986 to June 1986. He worked with the Professional Development Program at the College of New Jersey that developed a $4.5 million professional development network. He led the creation of a pre K-12 school district from a K-8 school district, which involved revamping curriculum, hiring new staff and training teachers on new curriculum implementation. He established several new offices, combined the philosophies of new and old staff and implemented new technologies across the district.

With the collaborative support of Board of Education members, government offices and educational stakeholders, Thomas McMahon Superintendent negotiated changes to the New Jersey School funding and construction aid formulas. This further helped in increasing aid to the Barnegat and Toms River school districts. He introduced various new curricular programs that were widely accepted by the parents and key stakeholders. Some of the programs Thomas started are Everyday Math, Study Island, Gifted/Talented, Instrumental Music, SAT Prep, Behavioral Disabilities and Kindergarten Plus. Thomas McMahon Superintendent also worked as an Executive Director of Educational Foundation/Sports Booster Club and helped raise approximately 50,000 dollars for local college scholarships.
