Thomas McMahon Superintendent, a well-educated professional based in Toms River, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Political Science from Monmouth University, Monmouth, New Jersey. He graduated with a 3.91 grade point average out of 4 and received the Summa Cum Laude honor. He later enrolled at the Jersey City State College and received his Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration & Supervision, with a 4.0 cumulative average. Thomas was full-time employed while attending college and was also granted the Garden State Fellowship- an opportunity which is given to only thirty students yearly in the entire state of New Jersey. In addition to this, he has also received an Educational Doctorate from Rutgers University located in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Thomas McMahon Superintendent is a successful professional, who after completing his studies started teaching social studies and also designed a special buddy program with the district’s handicapped students. In addition to this, he was honored with Sallie Mae National Teacher Award for initiating the entrepreneur program with the students. Furthermore, he was one of the seven summer trainers who were selected to train the staff in new and innovative teaching methodologies. Thomas has served as the secretary of the state middle school association and trained grade 6 to 8 teachers on middle school philosophy. Thereafter, he became Business Administrator and completed a 9 million dollar school project within budget and on time.
He also founded a new curriculum for grade 6 to 8 and efficiently trained the entire staff. He later, assumed the position of Business Administrator and Assistant Superintendent, and started technology initiative. Thomas McMahon Superintendent also believes in contributing in welfare activities and founded an Education Foundation to raise money. He also started a Business Partnership Program that helped raise over $850,000 funds. Apart from this, he also created linkages to the College of New Jersey and Monmouth University for curriculum and training ideas. Thomas established a new funding legislation with a State Senator and has also served as the Chairman of Watchful Shepherd Program. Besides, he is also on the Board of Directors for the Association of Retarded Citizens, Ocean County.
